The Town strives to provide accommoda�ons for individuals with disabili�es. Please contact our office at
least two days prior to the scheduled event if accommoda�ons are needed.
Comments on the applica�ons are solicited and all interested par�es or their representa�ves will be
afforded an opportunity to submit wri�en and/or oral comments during the hearing. Wri�en comments
may be sent in advance to the Town Planner at 10 Elm St., Trumansburg NY 14886 or via email to mailto:
ulysses.planner@gmail.com by 5pm on the date of the mee�ng.
LIBRARY SUMMER PROGRAMS:
Summer Reading Program
Star�ng July 5th, youth aged birth to 18 can register for the program and earn a free book to keep.
Throughout the summer, youth can report to us what they are reading by drawing or wri�ng about a
book they read. Each �me they submit a reading report they will earn another book! (While supplies
last; please limit to one report per child per week).
All of the reading reports will be counted toward our Community Reading Goal of 1,000 books!
Grown-ups, we’ll have a reading challenge for you, too – with some fun prizes!
And that’s not all! Check out our program calendar for informa�on on all of the free programs we will
be hos�ng this summer, both inside and outside of the library.
DOG CENSUS- TIMELINE EXTENDED:
The town is conduc�ng a town-wide dog census.
�If you DO NOT have a dog, please respond at https://forms.gle/PmQ49SPsvESGZind9 so
that we can eliminate you from our mailing list.
�If you DO have a dog that does not yet have a license, complete the form at
https://townofulyssesny.gov/__cms/docs/Dog-license-form-2022.pdf and return along with
rabies/spay informa�on.
Any dogs found to be unlicensed a�er the census will be assessed a $25 census fee in addi�on to the
usual licensing fees. For informa�on, contact the clerk’s office at ulysses.clerk@gmail.com or call

SEPTIC SYSTEM AND PRIVATE WATER WELL MAINTENANCE WORKSHOP
Tompkins County homeowners are invited to a�end a free Sep�c System and Private Water Well
Maintenance Workshop. A�endees can receive a $200 rebate coupon good for sep�c system
maintenance by a�ending this free workshop from 6:30pm-8pm on the following dates:
�June 14, Lansing Town Hall (29 Auburn Rd, Lansing)
�August 17, Danby Town Hall (1830 Danby Rd, Ithaca)
�September 21, Ulysses Town Hall (10 Elm St, Trumansburg)
The workshops will focus on homeowner sep�c system management. Topics will include how a sep�c
system func�ons, current system standards, maintenance requirements and schedules, trouble shoo�ng,
and system failures. Private water well components, maintenance, and recommended tes�ng schedules
will also be discussed.

SAFETY & PREPAREDNESS From TC Emergency Response:
Varna to Host Next Ci�zen Preparedness Training July 12th
Register to a�end the next Ci�zen Preparedness Corps training in Tompkins County on Wednesday, July
12th at 6:00pm at the Varna Community Center, 943 Dryden Road. Learn the tools and resources you
need in order to prepare for any type of disaster or emergency. All a�endees receive a free Disaster
Preparedness Kit (one per family). Pre-registra�on is required at www.prepare.ny.gov
Save the Date: Preparedness & Safety Fair Sept. 16th
The Tompkins County Departments of Emergency Response and Whole Health (formerly Public Health)
will host their second Emergency Preparedness and Safety Fair. This family-friendly event takes place at
the Shops at Ithaca Mall on Saturday, September 16th from 11am-2pm. Several local first responder
agencies will be represented, as well as a number of community organiza�ons. There will also be CPR
demonstra�ons, a blood drive and a live radio broadcast.
TOMPKINS COUNTY REAL PROPERTY TAX FORECLOSURE AUCTION- THURSDAY, JUNE 29
The Tompkins County Finance Department invites interested bidders to a�end the Real Property Tax
Foreclosure Auc�on to be held on Thursday, June 29 at the Tompkins County Whole Health building’s
Rice Room at 55 Brown Road, Ithaca. Bidders may begin registering at 6pm. At 7pm, following a review
of terms and condi�ons, the auc�on will begin, and each property will be sold in consecu�ve order.
This auc�on was rescheduled from an earlier date in an�cipa�on of guiding legisla�on expected from
the New York State Legislature following a recent U.S. Supreme Court Case regarding property tax
foreclosure auc�ons. Future changes will be communicated in advance of any auc�on.
These foreclosed upon proper�es are being made available via auc�on following delinquent taxes
unpaid as of the January 13, 2023, deadline.
