The changes are based on inventory, recent appraisals, and comparable sales. For more informa�on on sales, visit the county’s sales search application. In addi�on, property owners can u�lize Imagemate Online to search property informa�on and values. If you do not agree with your updated assessment, you can request a review by MAY 4, 2023 by either: �Filling out the review applica�on on the back of the no�ce �Filing an online assessment review application. �Scheduling a phone appointment with one of the appraisers in the office For more informa�on visit https://www.tompkinscountyny.gov/assessment or contact Jay Franklin - Director of Assessment at jfranklin@tompkins-co.org ARBOR DAY TREE PLANTING: The Town of Ulysses and Village of Trumansburg annual Arbor Day celebra�on and tree plan�ng will take place on Saturday, April 29 at 10am, at the West Main Street pull off across from the Trumansburg Farmers Market. Free American chestnut hybrid seedlings from the American Chestnut Founda�on (thanks to the Daughters of the American Revolu�on Chief Taughannock Chapter and the Triad Founda�on) will be offered as well as free official New York State Arbor Day posters and bookmarks. June berry trees (Amelanchier laevis ‘Lustre’) will be planted and proper tree establishment prac�ces will be shared. JACKSONVILLE COMMUNITY PARK CLEAN UP DAY The Jacksonville Community Associa�on invites local residents to the Spring Park Clean Up Day this Saturday, April 29 from 9am-12noon at the Community Park on Swamp College Road. The clean up will be held rain or shine and refreshments will be provided. To find the park: from Rte. 96, turn on Swamp College Rd and it is the 3rd driveway on the le�. Look for the sign made by an Eagle Scout. Walk, bike, or drive in to meet local neighbors, have some snacks, and help us get the park ready for public use during the 2023 season. Please bring rakes, clippers, gloves, rain gear, etc. BRUSH DROP OFF & SUMMER HOURS AT TOWN BARN: Town of Ulysses residents may drop off their brush and yard waste (not stumps or logs) at the town highway garage at 3888 Colegrove Rd., Trumansburg. (No contractor refuse, please). Summer hours for the highway crew begin on Monday, May 1 and run through Sept. 30 from 6am-4:30pm, Mon-Thurs. The dept. will be closed on Fridays during this period. DOG CENSUS: As required by law, we are beginning a town-wide dog census. In the first phase, we are trying to get as many folks as possible to respond on-line. This will help cut down on mailing costs. Please respond at https://forms.gle/PmQ49SPsvESGZind9. If you have a dog that does not yet have a license, complete the form at https://townofulyssesny.gov/__cms/docs/Dog-license-form-2022.pdf and return along with rabies/spay informa�on. Any dogs found to be unlicensed as of June 2, 2023 will be assessed a $25 census fee in addi�on to the usual licensing fees. TRANSPORTATION SURVEY - RAFFLE PRIZE ENTRY FOR PARTICIPATING The Tompkins County Transporta�on Equity Coali�on is conduc�ng a survey to understand your transporta�on needs and experiences and learn what changes might help you. Results of the survey will be presented and made available to the public by the end of the summer. Those comple�ng the survey can choose to be entered into a raffle for prizes including one of the following: TCAT pass, Ithaca Bikeshare credits, Ithaca Carshare membership and credits, $100 Wegmans gi� card, or $100 Amazon gi� card. Par�cipa�on is voluntary and all informa�on will be kept confiden�al. The survey will be open un�l April 30th and should take 15-20 minutes. Wri�ng workshop Jumpstart your Crea�vity! Will run on Tuesdays May 2nd, 9th, and 16th from 11:30am – 1pm. Ready to start a new crea�ve project? Have a story idea but need help ge�ng going? Trumansburg author Rebecca Barry will help you find your crea�ve spark in this three-session wri�ng workshop series. Par�cipants will work on wri�ng prompts to spark crea�vity and begin developing pieces of wri�ng in any genre. No wri�ng experience is necessary. Registra�on required – please call 607-387-5623. MAGIC AND MARIONETTES The Ulysses Historical Society and Encore Players Community Theatre will present MAGIC AND MARIONETTES at the Ulysses Historical Society at 39 South St., Trumansburg on Friday, April 28 at 7pm; Saturday, April 29 at 2pm and 7pm; and Sunday, April 30 at 2pm. The marione�es will present an original play �tled “Jack and his Friends” by Ashley Manning, directed by Andy Weintraub. Wri�en for kids AND adults, this will be sure to please everyone. The event is free but dona�ons are gratefully accepted. FOOD PANTRY TIME CHANGE To be�er serve the community, the Trumansburg Food Pantry is switching to new hours beginning on Monday, May 8.The pantry will now be open from 3:30-6:30 p.m. at the Trumansburg United Methodist Church, 80 E Main Street.
