OTHERS PRESENT: Carl Lupo, Norbert Nolte
The legal notice of the hearing was printed in the Ithaca Journal on Monday, May 26, 2014 and was

Ms. Thomas made a motion to open the public hearing at 6:30 p.m., seconded by Mr. Kerness, passed
unanimously.
The area affected in the proposed zoning map change is residential but is currently included in the
"light industrial" zone. The proposed zoning map amendment would change the zoning of the
properties to R2 -Moderate Density Residence District, which is the same as the surrounding areas. It
would also correct the dissection of certain parcels that had been partly in light industrial and partly in
moderate density residential areas.
PUBLIC COMMENTS:
Mr. Nolte spoke in support of the change. He feels that businesses do not thrive well in that area and
that there is a need for quality mid -income housing. He plans to build at 1635 Trumansburg Road.
Mr. Lupo resides at 1653 Trumansburg Road and also spoke in support of the amendment. He spoke
on behalf of himself and his neighbors who want to fix up their homes but can't due to the zoning. His
property is one of those dissected by the zoning. He plans to build and fix up middle income homes
and market them to the elderly population.
ADJOURN:
Ms. Thomas made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:44 pm, seconded by Mr. Kerness.
Respectfully submitted
