20. HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL IMPORTANCE:
Local oral history identifies the structure as one of toe oldest within
the Village, ascocia.ted_ with one of the many milTs that at -one time
lined the creek. 'he building is adjacent to the site of a bridge and for-
mer grist mill and its race; these were washed away in the 1935 flood,
The strt?oWre way have originally served as the residence of the mill
operator. It is a small building that has undergone interior and exterior
alterations; the interior has been divided into two stories with low
ceilings and the exterior covered with "novelty siding", hording to
the Present owner, the original entrance was on the ?:~rest and the buidling's
long side may have originally faced the ;,rest, the 'douse being turned when
a new foundation was constructed. It appears on the 1868 Atlas as being
owned- dr occupied by H. Clock. The structure was the hone of Samuel
Frazer, 'Town Constable c. 1910,,
