"he building is situated downhill (north) from the Presbyterian Church. 18. OTHER NOTABLE FEATURES OF BUILDING AND SITE (including interior features if known): exterior greatly altered while interior retains original mortise and tenon ,joined frame. The roof of the main section has wood shingles. The house has a "rustic" appearance and is presently well maintained. SIGNIFICANCE 19. HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL IMPORTANCE: According to the present owner, the structure is one of the oldest within the Village and is associated: with the founder of the Village$ Abner Treman. It is _reputed to have been the dwelling, of &bner®s son Johna.tha.n `.Crernan. The building may well have been used for milTing Purposes in the ,east given its proximity to the creel{ and falls. The former street upon which the building is located is refered to locally as a "Dill street". It is a small building that has undergone interior and exterior alterations; the interior has been divided into two stories with low ceilings and the exterior covered with "novelty siding", hording to the Present owner, the original entrance was on the ?:~rest and the buidling's long side may have originally faced the ;,rest, the 'douse being turned when a new foundation was constructed.
