2022 Preliminary Budget
Town of Ulysses
October 26, 2021
The meeting was held via Zoom videoconference and noticed on the website at ulysses.ny.us.
CALL TO ORDER:
Ms. Zahler called the meeting to order at 7:04pm.
ATTENDANCE:
The Town Clerk called the roll:

Supervisor- Nancy Zahler
Board members- Michael Boggs, Katelin Olson, Rich Goldman, Mary Bouchard
Budget Officer- Michelle E. Wright
Town Clerk- Carissa Parlato
Planning Board Chair- Linda Liddle
Conservation & Sustainability Advisory Committee Chair- Roxanne Marino
OTHERS PRESENT:
Maureen Shallish, Anne Koreman
PURPOSE OF PUBLIC HEARING:
Ms. Zahler asked Ms. Wright to share a presentation on the budget creation process and final
numbers. She noted historical trends and highlighted changes for 2022 .
OPENING THE PUBLIC HEARING:
Ms. Olson moved to open the hearing at 7:20pm. This was seconded by Mr. B oggs and passed
unanimously.
Ms. Zahler noted that the date of the hearing was set by resolution of the Town Board on October 19,
posted on the website on Oct. 20, sent in the town newsletter on Oct. 22 and published in the Ithaca
Journal on October 21.
PUBLIC COMMENTS:
Ms. Zahler noted that a comment was received in response to the newsletter posting from Mr.
Schott. He felt that the language used in the budget narrative diminished the property tax burden on
taxpayers.
Ms. Marino feels that recovery funds should be spent on things that benefit all in the town and not
just the water district.
CLOSING THE HEARING:

Hearing no further comments, Mr. Goldman made a motion to close the hearing at 7:26pm. This was
seconded by Ms. Olson and passed unanimously.
