Seeking BZA member

Hello Town of Ulysses residents
Sadly the Chair of the Board of Zoning Appeals, George Tselekis has stepped down after almost 30 years on
the board. We appreciate his efforts and will very much miss his leadership.
We are now seeking residents who would be interested in the position of Alternate to the BZA. The BZA is a
judicial body, independent of the Town Board. It makes determinations on variance requests. The Alternate
position is actually fairly active since many of the other members travel frequently. The Alternate can always
participate in the BZA discussions and can vote if filling in for a regular member. The position requires a
minimum of 4 hours of training annually.
A BZA member can live anywhere in the Town, including the Village of Trumansburg, but makes determination
on zoning variance requests only in areas outside the Village.
To express your interest, submit an application by September 29 to the Town Clerk,clerk@ulysses.ny.us or 10
Elm St. Depending on the number of applicants, there may be an interview.
Your public servant,
-Liz
