TOWN OF VIRGIL SPECIAL MEETING
February 10TH 2016
PRESENT: Deputy Supervisor Jereme Stiles, Board Members Eric Snow, Gary Pelton and Matthew Denniston, Town Clerk Alane Van
Donsel, Chuck Weeks Weeks Engineering, Steve Taylor AJG Associates, Chaz Rockwell Empire Construction of CNY, Brian Wilcox
Wilcox Construction Co., John Connolly First General, Ricky L. Yale RL Yale Construction, John Byroads JB Hardwood and James Bryan
JBK Builders. Supervisor Kaminski excused.
7:00 PM –DEPUTY SUPERVISOR JEREME STILES CALLED THE WORK SESSION TO ORDER: Alane Van Donsel read the Legal Notice on
the special work session that was published in the Cortland Standard on January 27 th, 2016.
OPENING OF BIDS: Deputy Supervisor Stiles stated the purpose of this work session was to open all the bids. He stated that Weeks
Engineer will look over all the bids and will then advise the Town Board on his recommendation. Stiles said that bid will be awarded
at the next Town board meeting that will be on February 11 th, 2016. At that meeting there will be time for public comment at 7:00
PM and then the meeting will commence at 7:30 PM. Stiles said that Town Clerk Van Donsel will open the bids and hand them to
Engineer Weeks who will then read the bids out loud. The sealed bids were opened in order in which they were stacked.
BID #1- FIRST GENERAL SERVICES OF SOUTHERN NY, INC. : Bid amount $320,450.00 and they included a copy of a bid bond and
non-collusion certificate.
BID #2- AJG ASSOCIATES LLC: Bid amount $356,600.00 and they included a copy of a bid bond and non -collusion certificate.
BID #3-WILCOX CONSTRUCTION: Bid amount $316,500.00 and they included a copy of a bid bond and non -collusion certificate.
BID #4- JBK CONSTRUCTIONS: Bid amount $288,900.00 and they included a copy of a bid bond and non -collusion certificate.
BID #5 MARCHUSKA BROTHERS: Bid amount $415,380.00 and they included a copy of a bid bond and non-collusion certificate.
BID #6- MCPHEARSON: Bid amount $312,450.00 and they included a copy of a bid bond and non -collusion certificate.
BID #7- RICHARD WAKEMAN: Bid amount $293,000.00 and they included a copy of a bid bond and non-collusion certificate.
BID #8- EMPIRE CONSTRUCTION: Bid amount $409,380.00 and they included a copy of a bid bond and non-collusion certificate.
BID #9-R L YALE CONSTRUCTION: Bid amount $262,000.00 and they included a copy of a bid bond and non -collusion certificate.
CLOSING BID OPENING: Chuck Weeks of Weeks Engineering concluded the opening of the bids. Deputy Supervisor Stiles asked the
Town Board Members if they had any questions. They did not.
With no further business to discuss, Deputy Supervisor Stiles moved to adjourn the meeting at 2:35P.M. Member Denniston
seconded the Motion. Vote: Ayes-Members Snow, Denniston, Stiles, and Pelton. Nays: None.
