Cross, Zoning Officer <br />212 Hanshaw Road <br />A zoning permit application to replace an existing poolfence with a new 6'fence at the above <br />referenced property has been denied. The fence is located within 2.5' of the property line in <br />back of the house (that has frontage on Devon Road), which is less than the minimum 25' <br />required by the Village of Cayuga Heights Zoning Ordinance Section 6: Setbacks. The owner is <br />seeking a variance to allow the reduced front yard. Therefore a public hearing has been <br />scheduled for 8:15 pm on June 22nd , 2016 at Marcham Hall, 836 Hanshaw Road. <br />It should also be noted there is an existing poolhouse (associated with the fence) that is at <br />approximately 15' setback from the same property line. According to the Tompkins County <br />Assessment records, the pool and poolhouse were installed in 1960, which was after the <br />establishment of the current zoning regulations.
